Inauguration Day

Well it's upon us.

Shame really. The first black president and he wasn't Walter Williams.

Still I think that Perry de Havilland over at Samizdata hit it on the head. This is a cool thing to have a black man become president. It is unfortunate that said black man is a raging socialist that will destroy individual liberty and increase the power of the already bloated and bankrupt Federal government.

Plus the media led us to believe that this would usher in a new era of prosperity and growth for America. I expected to wake up this morning and see gumdrops and money raining from the sky and see a unicorn flouncing around in my front lawn. I saw neither of these things. So much for your messiah.

So bend over everyone. Here it comes. Higher taxes, higher unemployment, more regulation, more "oversight", More gun laws, more gun registration, less freedom, and less liberty.

Funny though, that last part could have been said of any of the presidential candidates except maybe Ron Paul.

We are in deep deep trouble.

Waited all day for your comments. The horse and pony show is still going on, and of course you know by now this inauguration drew the largest crowd in history, passing the numbers present when Johnson was sworn in. We were screwed in any event, and have been for years anyway. How the hell can it get any worse?
