Try The Way The World Works by Jude Wanniski
I highly recommend The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
If you haven't read Atlas Shrugged and other Ayn Rand stuff, that needs to be on your list. A good body of work on the morality of freedom and capitalism. Atlas Shrugged has been called the most influential book in history after the Bible (although for me it's far better than the Bible).
